Godfrey won The Stevie Wonder Award in 1989 for Best Male Gospel Choir Soloist. He hasperformed alongside Stevie Wonder himself and is a fantastic tribute to him.

Godfrey is involved in a substantial amount of studio recording sessions for various artists and during his singing career he has worked alongside popular artistes such as; The Winans, (Father and Uncles ofMario Winans), Commissioned, Billy Gaines, Michael Bolton, Boyzone and Heather Small, to name but a few.
