Live Steel Drum Calypso

The Midlands-based Calypso Steel Band is made up of highly experienced musicians who have played widely in the Caribbean and the UK. They are great enthusiasts of steel pan playing and Caribbean music, and as well as performing at functions and events, they also run steel band workshops for both children and adults. The band can perform from a duo up to a six-piece, but the usual line-up is a three-piece of two pans plus bass guitar, keyboard or percussion; or a four-piece with the addition of another pan player. If required, the band can also include vocals and can even arrange for a limbo dancer to be included! The band have a large repertoire to suit all types of occasion and they are also able to learn and perform additional numbers on request. They provide a PA system, and where no power is available they can either provide their own battery power unit or play acoustically.
